Do you see that tumblr? That single tear? Have a seat, and I’ll tell you what it means.

In the movie Thor, you see a good amount of interaction between the brothers before Thor gets banished and it’s actually a pretty good one. Yes there is some jealousy on Loki’s part but that’s normal in a lot of sibling relationships. And you can also see that Thor turns to Loki for guidance and support, even though he’s known to play tricks and lie. Thor trusts Loki and Loki knows this, along with the fact that he’s the one person that Thor always looks for.

In this deleted scene, Thor and Loki share a playful moment but then the atmosphere grows heavy. Thor asks his brother how he looks and that was the response. Loki told him not only what he wanted to hear but what he neededto hear. He was the one giving his big brother support. Not the Warriors Three, not Sif and not their parents. Loki was.

So when he learns that just because he met a simple, Midgardianwoman no less,it’s perfectly understandable that he would be upset. He was the person that was always on Thor’s mind, always the one he came to for anything. But now, it seems he’s been replaced by someone who’s of a lower standard than him or anyone in Asgard for that matter. She is just a mortal and Loki cannot comprehend why anything about her would appeal to his princely brother who doted on him before.

All of this hits in just that moment of silence from Thor and Loki realizes that he may not be the most important one to his brother anymore. Loki’s fear of no longer being important to his brother is great, enough to make him shed a tear and prove that he is not above the emotions that once called so petty.

I love you, Loki </3 so don’t cry!
